Proofing
Proofing, or proofreading, is employed after the manuscript has gone through developmental/content and line edits to catch any remaining typos, spelling errors, missing punctuation, missing paragraph breaks, and spelling and usage for regional preference. All changes are made within the manuscript document utilizing Microsoft Word’s Track Changes.
This can also be done at the same time as a copy edit.

Word choice will also be examined to make sure meaning is clear. All changes are made within manuscript document utilizing Microsoft Word’s Track Changes.
This can also be done at the same time as a proof edit.
Other items that would be reviewed during a proof or copy edit:
- Abbreviations and acronyms
- Capitalization
